I have a hope that despite the giant mountain of shit that is going to be produced from LLMs in the future, there's going to be a small number of people out there doing cool things with them. I am completely ignorant on the gaming hardware front, but I hope we see more/better emulators and old games being brought back to life with improved performance and compatibility with modern OSs.

I think like any technology it can be used for positive or negative outcomes. It certainly makes either easier.

It's not really fair to compare API pricing to subscriptions. You can indeed get lots of usage from a codex subscription, but once you start paying per token it gets a lot more painful as you noticed. There a price decrease is a big deal.

The amazing "solution" is basically telling the model to STFU every single turn. I guess this works better than putting it just in the claude MD since then it's never out of context.

This, of course, depends on your goals, but if your goal is for your project to reach more people for whom it is relevant, it is not crazy to provide some basic motivation.

"Why anyone should use this" is the fundamental question that anyone building something with the intention of other people using it should be thinking about. For example, Pi agent provides lots of information on the thinking and motivation behind the design. Even if I don't use the project, I come away learning something interesting.

You're in luck; plenty of basic information as to it's implementation and self extending nature right there in the repo.

I have also noticed that I am increasingly struggling to read what LLMs are writing, finding it incomprehensible half the time. I stole Matt Pocock's line of "When reporting information to me, be extremely concise and sacrifice grammar for the sake of concision." for the agents.md It makes it a little better. I also specify to use https://github.com/AminBlg/SimpleEnglish/ for all writing it does including code comments. It all feels like a bandaids but that seems to be the best we can do right now.
