Let me grab my calculator and add up the time I have spent reading about model releases since Fable has been released. It seems they all place themselves relative to Fable. I'm sure that time has added up to far greater than 10 seconds. At some point, it ceased to be a meaningful differentiation. This is especially true when I put the model through real usage.

Yes it does, it matters a lot. With smaller dimensions, tip speeds remain manageable. As soon as parts of the thing get supersonic, everything gets much more complicated.
Idk, was building/maintaining simple esp32 control program with antig/opus. After last update it defaulted to gflash3.7. I pasted an email requesting 2 changes into the chat prompt, it did one and took me 4 turns to get that one right.
Same. The reason I gave up was their limit inconsistency. I signed up for their cheapest sub and got what I felt was fair. I subbed for ultra and hammered the opus as much as I could - first week I couldnt hit the 5h limit at all, used 80% of weekly limit. Second week I couldnt hit the 5h limit at all, used up my weekly limit 1 day before reset.
Third week I was hitting 5h limits by hour 3, weekly limit in 4 days. Last week Ive hit my 5h limit in under 40 min, and stopped using it completely.
My usage was very consistent thorough the month. I wasnt launching subagents, I wasnt working with more full caches, they just tightened my limits during the month I paid like 180$ for, which was discounted 50% for first 3 months, so they wanted over 300$ to keep the sub I hit 5h limits before my cofee gets cold. Absolutely insane
I gave up on antigravity when they retroactively changed the limits. I learnt that I'd exceeded the new, lower limits when I sat down to use it one evening - despite not having touched it for a few days. I don't mind limits, but something about the retroactive application and how it unexpectedly forced me to change my plans really angered me - I cancelled my subscription that day and have used other tools since.
A real lesson in how not to treat your customers. I would probably still be paying for it if they'd applied the new limits more softly.
Well the subscriptions are kind of coming to an end anyway because they can't support the subsidies. I've been building www.freepi.ai which is totally free (ad+training) supported inference. It's using a PI harness but I have a webfrontend coming soon. I'd love your feedback!
Its more about "man, imagine if we didnt have competition", which is what the us is trying to eliminate by soon labeling all openweight llms as dangerous and illegal.
