My bet is that Amodei's claims about the dangers of AI are the most likely to come true – I'm predicticing amodei/anthropic will become the evil it was against.

Those claims are warnings if you're working class, and marketing if you're corporate.

I predict they go bankrupt.

It's the writing style of AI. It's quite problematic for a lot of people.

I often really want to read articles, but the minute is encounter claude-speak, I (a) either leave (90%+ of the time) or (b) ask another AI to rewrite it using simple english or in a style of another writer in that space (yes, I know, it's ironical).

Just hard to read AI-ism.

The load bearing fact is it's not the content, or the originality, or the perceived lack of effort, it's reading the same trope for the 10000th time, and experiencing something akin to ad-blindness.

Read a interesting piece recently that Semaglutide reduces inflammation, and very likely the weight-loss and a lot of the other emerging benefits are likely the effects of reduced inflammation.

> and very likely the weight-loss and a lot of the other emerging benefits are likely the effects of reduced inflammation.

That’s not correct. GLP-1s interact with satiety (fullness) circuits and reduce appetite. They also have minor effects delaying gastric emptying, meaning the stomach stays full longer.

There is some early data suggesting that they might reduce some inflammation markers slightly more than weigh loss alone, but losing weight and controlling food intake without GLP-1s reduces the same inflammatory markers. The question now is if GLP-1s have additional anti-inflammatory influence.

I don’t know why someone would claim all of their effects are downstream of inflammation. Some people get stuck in modes where they think inflammation is the cause of everything and can’t comprehend causal effects going in the other direction.

> The question now is if GLP-1s have additional anti-inflammatory influence.

This is well established, not at all a question.

> they might reduce some inflammation markers slightly more than weigh loss alone

There's no "slightly," It's going to be a news story for years to come. It's a broad spectrum anti-inflammatory drug of a breadth and efficacy never seen before.

Can you please share a good reference on this? All I read about GLP-1 stuff is popular science style punlications. I'm genuinely interested in learning about their benefits over reducing caloric intake, i.e. diet.

> It's hard to say what their motivation is

Why is it hard? Their government has been very clear that they plan to win on manufacturing: https://english.www.gov.cn/news/202601/08/content_WS695f1b55...

Technically they've been saying it for the last 40 years.

Came to say this. I've used it for years. Simple and works great!

Reviews for one. It's reviews are phenomenal.

Yes and no. The hot moment I tried Fable that thing gave reviews so good I was already considering automation to cut a review for every PR in the company. Its coding abilities though were not that good.

GPT 5.5 is by far the best coding model.
