So much of social media (low voted submissions here too) boils down to people fighting over ideological symbols or trying to hear a series of appropriate echoes. If you support the suit you probably "hate Amazon" and if you don't "You're a bootlicker".
The idea that you could not support Amazon or their practices, but also not take this lawsuit as some grand symbol of everything wrong with Amazon and the world is nuance most find repellent online, and increasingly offline.
Why reflexively side with Amazon on this? They've been known to engage in such anti-workers practice, and have spent millions on union-busting and other illegal stuff like this.
GM tried for years building their own infotainment system internally and never made one anyone liked until they just integrated android auto/car play finally. It was an admission of defeat in doing so, but made everyone happy. When they announced pulling this back, I laughed, thinking "trying to put the rabbit back in the bag, eh?"

Microsoft repurposed Google's adware in Chrome into Edge telemetry/spyware to feed your browsing directly into windows telemetry to watch everything you do, they wanted that back when IE lost the war.
Google already went evil and set the precedent removing adblocking capabilities, now Microsoft can just blame them and feed everything you do into Bing for ad money as well as telemetry/spyware without you blocking it, that's effectively double-dipping all in on stupid windows users.
I use Chrome. uBlock Origin Lite works fine, basically as well as the old uBlock as far as I can tell. As to why, I kind of like it - the built in Google Lens tool is cool and I don't think is in the other browsers?
Firefox is my main browser, but I use all of Safari/Vivaldi/Edge with some specific configuration for some specific things. Edge primarily just to access MS sites, logging into the browser with MS account makes it easy.
They must love giving their personal information to Microsoft. Mac users are used to it with the icloud "privacy" proxy they default enable on macos/ios users to slurp everything they do already, so I guess why limit yourself to giving your info to only to Tim Apple. Microsoft needs love too.

iCloud private relay is only available for iCloud+ users. It cannot be enabled by default, and is not, even for iCloud+ users BTW.
iCloud private relay is a novel dual-party VPN-like technology where neither party involved gets to be able to track the user, says Apple. Yes, it requires trust to believe it, but I tend to think the company the size of Apple would not go around throwing statements like these if they weren’t true, at least to the best of their knowledge, especially since privacy and trust is literally one of the core of Apple businesses… They would be lynched if it were proven that this is false.
