A bit of a background: I originally started working on OpenClip because I wanted a PopClip-like workflow for free, but I also wanted to be able to build and install my own actions without modifying the main application.

The extension system ended up becoming one of the more interesting parts of the project. Extensions can use JavaScript, shell/Python, AppleScript, or Shortcuts, and the app communicates with them through a relatively small interface.

I'm interested in hearing from other Mac developers about any issues with different applications, especially apps that implement their own text editors or accessibility behavior and also I'd love to hear new extensions ideas.

That's a nice app. I don't know how it differs from the normal mac dictation — cuz normal thing works great, but I think having a visual cue of what's happening like yap does is a nice thing. And can we replace the actual microphone key for the activation of the voice?? Also for the concern of the mac dictation sending it to the cloud — also could mean that the speech api could also send it to the cloud right?

yeah, this is a possibility and also they could store it and send it after we appear online.

The funny thing about this project is that I own https://www.yaps.ai which is also offline dictation, amidst a ton of other things (e.g. speech generation, meetings, video editing, etc.). And I legit thought this thread was about my tool until I opened it up.
