You're going to have a very uphill battle making a case that he's making America stronger in any commonly held definition of the word. Partisanship is a hell of a drug, man...

And US lack of munitions stronger.

If sarcasm, this is very funny.

After 6 years of this drama I fail to see the fun in sarcastic comments that remind me of Poe’s law.

I hate to break it to you but this drama has been going on for 10+ years. Remember birther conspiracies?

Remember Russiagate?

What would _you_ call the top 10% richest people in the world? Middle upper, upper, upper, upper class?

95% of the top 10% are middle class, because the vast majority of the world’s population are middle or lower class.

Maybe if you don't, the problem will go away.

I think OP is talking about datacenters which likely use a little more power than your home rig.

And I use SOTA models that are hosted on hardware I don't have access to a handful of times a month at this point, and most of the people I talk to regarding LLM usage are either in the same boat, or are asking about hosting things themselves. The diminishing returns for using the best of the best models just aren't worth it for most things anymore.

Because the economic, social, and climate impacts are at best uncertain and at worst devastating to the majority of human beings on the planet. It's always surprising to me that people don't intuitively separate the usefulness of AI from its risks. It feels like everyone has to be a doomer or a booster.

> at worst devastating

This is such a low bar literally anything would clear it. Even tomato farming.

I think you're going to have to flesh this out a little more, friend. I'm not sure what you're trying to say.

Beautifully put. This exactly summarizes my feelings about this particular tech. I actually find it hugely useful. But I fear we lack the wisdom to use this in a way that won't destroy us.

What's your main use case? Maps?

Pretty much, my car doesn't have navigation built in but supports android auto. I've tried a phone mount before but the experience is so much worse when it's not integrated with the car (volume of announcements and music can't be done independently, can't switch what music/podcast app's playing without grabbing my phone, etc) that I just went back to using it.
